1. MARKET OPPORUNITY ANALYSIS - Short-term Business Planning
Market Opportunity Analysis (MOA) provides a data-based assessment of market shares and potential unmet demand for every specialty and Local Government Area (LGA) in your catchment. This provides critical information not only on how much work was done in your catchment but how much you captured and, equally important, whether there was evidence of ‘unmet demand’ – and hence scope for expansion of services.
The Market Opportunity Analysis package can be accompanied by a written report that identifies the most significant opportunities. The data itself is available in standard Excel tables, pivot tables or in our Private Hospital Planning Tool. This tool automates all aspects of the MOA, generating results with only a few simple selections from drop down menus. This tool is particularly useful for private hospital operators that run more than one hospital as the one file can be used to review all aspects of the MOA for any chosen hospital in your group.
2. DEMAND PROJECTIONS - Strategic and Capital Works Planning
Using the same sophisticated modelling techniques that Hardes & Associates developed for the public sector we are able to provide private hospitals with a projected clinical profile of admissions and beddays for all specialties at your hospital in five year intervals up to 2026/27.
These demand projections provide you with 'status quo' projections –the clinical profile of your hospital and catchment in future years assuming no change in 'supply' – i.e. both market shares and overall level of supply of services remain constant. This provides a base case from which you can model alternate scenarios and provides an excellent tool for reviewing expansion opportunities and capital works requirements.
The Projections package can be accompanied by a written report that identifies the most significant opportunities. The data are available in standard Excel tables or in Excel pivot tables. Hardes & Associates can also assist in modelling alternate scenarios reflecting changes that might be part of an overall development strategy for the hospital e.g. the impact of changes in market share, expansion of services, recruitment of additional clinicians.
